The Grove Residential Home
The Grove is a registered charity run on a Not For Profit basis by a Voluntary Management Committee of local people whom have been involved in the care industry for many years. The Home is registered with the Care Quality Commission and has periodic inspections, these can be found at www.cqc.org.uk . The aim of the Home has always been to provide a safe, warm and comfortable environment for people who can no longer care for themselves.
The Grove is a large mid Victorian building. The house was given to the Charity Commission for use by the community. It was registered as a Care Home in 1948. Since 1995, the house has been much upgraded and refurbished and is now a beautiful modern Residential Home which retains some of the original Victorian features. The house has 30 bedrooms which are decorated and furnished according to individual tastes.
The House has one large lounge which extends into a beautiful conservatory overlooking the landscaped garden.
We also have The Green Room at the front of the building which is a light and airy room with floor to ceiling windows. People who walk by on a regular basis interact with our residents by waving hello, this is lovely to see.
We have a brightly themed Activity and Sensory Room where residents enjoy a selection of activities including craft work, interactive table play and one to one reminiscence. The room also encorporates a shop where residents can buy sweet treats, cards and other items.
The Activity and Sensory Room has a large mural which was designed from the ideas of our resident group. The students at Solihull sixth Form College worked with these ideas and created a stunning mural. We look forward to working with the students on future projects.
There is a large dining area where home cooked food is served daily, prepared in our own 5 Star award winning kitchen.
We cater to individual and specialised dietary requirements.
